Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith, aged 51, provided an inside glimpse of her ongoing hair growth journey on Monday (August 7) via her Instagram account. She shared with her numerous followers that her hair is showing signs of a resurgence. It’s worth noting that the Emmy Award-winning actress was diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune disorder, back in 2018.
In the post, she shared a pair of selfies showcasing the progress of her hair’s regrowth. The initial image displays Jada Pinkett-Smith confidently embracing her bald scalp, while the subsequent snapshot features her sporting a chic, short bleached-blonde pixie cut. With an accompanying caption, she disclosed the evident growth of her hair.
In her post, she shared, “This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back [sic]. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see. Slide 1: Past. Slide 2: Present.”
While Jada Pinkett-Smith, the host of “Red Table Talk,” has previously discussed her experience with alopecia, her condition gained significant attention during the 2022 Oscars event. This occurred after host Chris Rock made a controversial joke about her bald head.
In a incident, during last year’s Academy Awards in March, Will Smith, aged 54, stepped onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock, aged 58, following the comedian’s jest that drew a parallel between Will’s wife, Pinkett-Smith, and the character G.I. Jane.
As a consequence, Will Smith received a 10-year ban from involvement in the awards ceremony. The entertainer issued a series of public apologies to the Academy, his peers, and Chris Rock for the unfortunate incident.
