Embracing her role as the “Queen of Memes,” KeKe Palmer continues to share her authentic journey as a new mother, fearlessly embracing her newfound curves that she proudly showcases.

In an open and honest interview with The Cut, Palmer shares insights into how she is adjusting to her post-pregnancy body after welcoming her son Leo, whom she co-parents with Darius Jackson. This conversation arises following a controversial online incident, sparked by Jackson’s criticism of Palmer’s outfit choice during Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Although the tweet has been deleted, Jackson previously wrote, “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom.”

Jackson’s remarks sparked a wave of support for Palmer, with many coming to her defense. When asked about the outpouring of support from fellow moms, Palmer responded matter-of-factly. She stated, “Do you, new moms. Do you. Girl, if there’s one person on this earth that loves you for sure, it’s that baby. Be happy, because there’s no love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who cares?”

As a public figure, Palmer understands that she is constantly under scrutiny, which can be challenging. She admits, “I’ll be honest, I think before I even had the baby, I was really actually quite self-conscious. In a way that you would expect, considering the kind of work that I do as a public figure. Always trying to be on point with my body and always trying to make sure I’m taking care of this and that. There’s a lot of physical attention. Being slim and being fit in a particular way was always something that I was gunning for.”

However, she deeply values her personal growth, not just as a mother but also as a woman. She expresses, “After having my baby, I’ve just gotten so much more powerful. I’m just so strengthened in a crazy way. Strutting my stuff, enjoying [it].”

Since welcoming her baby Leo in February, Palmer has garnered attention for her remarkable sense of style and continues to make a fashion statement. Reflecting on the changes her body has undergone, she openly shares, “After having the baby, my body got so much bigger, and I started getting fluff in areas I never had before.”

She attributes her newfound confidence and appreciation for her body to her trainer Corey Calliet, who has been instrumental in helping her embrace her post-pregnancy figure and enjoy the journey. He wisely advised her, “Well, we are never going to try and get your body back to how it was before a baby because you birthed a child.” Inspired by his words, she shared, “That’s not something to hide, that’s something to embrace. We’re going to lean into this new body. That is the whole aura of what’s happening with me in this big boss era as I come into my 30s.”
